What type of delay is covered

Missed connection
Your rights depend on the airline carrier, the departure/destination zone, as well as the country in which the airline is based. Sometimes courts act like connecting flights are not included in the compensation cases. But according to EC 261, if the delay took more than 3 hours and the airline is responsible for the inconvenience you have the right to get compensation. Delay
You are entitled to compensation if:

  • your flight was delayed for more than 3 hours
  • you travel from EU country to EU country or the airline is headquartered in EU
  • you have checked in on time

  • the delayed flight took place no more than 3 years ago

Cancellation
What are rights if flight cancelled? If your flight was cancelled less than 14 days before the departure, you can claim the compensation from €250 to €600 per passenger. Overbooking
Under EC 261 you can claim the compensation in case of overbooking if:
the flight took off/landed in EU, and the airline is based in EU
you didn’t volunteer your seat or exchange it to any benefits
you were denied boarding for the reasons that are not under your control
the flight took place no more than 3 years ago

Missing documents
